Alessandra Marianelli - Musetta
Alessandra Marianelli is considered one of the most promising sopranos of her generation. Ms Marianelli started an international career that brought her to sing in major opera houses and festivals. In September 2010 she made her United States debut performing in Don Giovanni with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Roberto Abbado conducting. She then appeared as Xenja in Boris Godunov in Turin. She sang Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Florence under the baton of Zubin Mehta; Un Ballo in Maschera at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo; La Serva Padrona at the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi (filmed by Unitel and issued as a DVD); Ein deutsches Requiem in Rome. She also added other important roles to her repertoire: Musetta (La Bohème) in Riga and Florence, Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Teatro Real de Madrid, Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, under Fabio Luisi. Ms. Marianelli lately returned to Jesi singing in Spontini’s La Fuga in Maschera (Corrado Rovaris conducting), then revived in Naples, La Sonnambula in Monte-Carlo, Carmen (Micaëla) at the Macerata Opera Festival and at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Gianandrea Noseda conducting, Ricciardo e Zoraide (Zoraide) in Bad Wildbad, La Sonnambula at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Così fan tutte in Cagliari. Ms Marianelli recently made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and as Flaminia in Il Mondo della Luna in Monte-Carlo.
Among her future plans, it is worth mentioning Il Campiello in Florence, the new recording of Il viaggio a Reims ( Madama Cortese) at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad. She will also participate in Julietta at the Opernhaus in Zurich.
Olga Busuioc - Mimì*
Olga Busuioc, young Moldavian singer, is a recipient of several prizes at international lyric competitions, such has the International Competition Ottavio Ziino, Second Prize (2011) and a Special Prize at the International Competition “Galina Vishnevskaya” in Moscow (2012), the international competition “St. Moniuszko” in Warsaw and at the international competition Francisco Vinas. She also won the prestigious Operalia in Moscow with Placido Domingo. Ms Busuioc performed in concert at the Music Festival Lastarii Muzicii in Chisinau and at the Music Festival in Ukraine under the baton of Andriy Yurkevych. In Italy, she is specializing under the guidance of Mirella Freni at Cubec in Modena.
More recently Ms. Busuioc starred in Iolanta in Moldova, La Bohème (Mimì) at the National Theatre Opera & Balett in Chisinau and at the Martisor Festival in Romania and at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest. Her repertoire includes Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Eugene Onegin (Tatiana), Puccini’s Turandot (Liù) and La Bohème (Mimì), Bizet’s Carmen (Micaela), Mozart Le nozze di Figaro (Contessa d’Almaviva).
